PhD Mathematics | Tulane University, USA

Dr Nischal completed his PhD in Mathematics at Tulane University, New Orleans (USA). While pursuing research in Differential Topology, he taught undergraduate courses for several years. As a mathematician, Atul is also keen to develop the use of Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI in marketing technology.

The desire to contribute towards improving quality of school mathematics instruction brought him back to India in 1997. Since his return from the U.S., he has been actively engaged in various aspects of school math education. He supports the use of technology to teach mathematics and has been part of several eLearning initiatives in the country starting from . To make math education meaningful, efficient and individualized he is currently working with a great team to launch MathBuster online courses for students of classes 9 to 12.

In 2006, he presented a paper “Delivering Lectures Digitally” at the National Seminar on Perspectives in Educational Technology organised by NCERT in which he moved the idea of a National Content Repository.

Conducting workshops for teachers and students on various aspects of math education and assessment is his passion and service to math education. He has received invites from leading academic institutions such as Delhi University, Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram, IIT-Roorkee, Lakshimat Singhania School, Gotan and others as Chief Guest to address and felicitate students.

He is also engaged in collaborating with the British Council on the prestigious TESS-I project of the Open University (UK) and UK-Aid. This initiative will provide open source content to teachers and teacher educators across seven states where his role is to author Teacher Development Units for secondary mathematics.
